Memorial Day Weekend

What a long weekend! But we did have some fun!

Saturday we headed to Lake Guntersville with the Ham family!

After playing on the Lake we ate at Top Of The River for Brian’s birthday. We brought home a TON of popcorn shrimp!

For more awesome shots of us playing on the Lake visit Iana’s blog!

Sunday we took Keith’s brother, Trey, to Atlanta so he could catch his plane to Paris! This picture does not even come close to capturing the way the city looks as you approach it.

We gave him hugs from everyone!

After that we headed to some of  our favorite places to visit in Atlanta. Keith went to the PGA Superstore and I went to Ballard’s Backroom. I’ll show you what I got in another post!

 044

Next stop, IKEA! I was in heaven, Keith was not. But he suffered through and I got some incredibly cheap curtains, which I will show you later.

045

Then on to H&M. It was my first time, and let me tell you, it is just as wonderful as I had heard! It was packed, but I managed to snag some cute clothes, and the prices are VERY reasonable.

Finally, we sat down for some of the best Mexican food in the WHOLE WORLD, La Parillia! It has been almost TWO YEARS since Keith and I have had cheese dip with jalapenos and Burrito La Parillia Steak. If you are lucky enough to live close to one (we had one in Newnan), please do not take this for granted. There is not a Mexican restaurant even close to being as good in Birmingham!

While at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, Keith and I got misty-eyed watching all the service men and women returning for R&R. There are USO workers stationed giving gifts and applause as each solider departs from their plane. It gives you a lump in your throat and makes your heart swell with pride. No amount of applause could ever re-pay what these brave men and women have done for us, but it is so important for them to know the people back home care. Please check out the awesome things that  the USO of Georgia are doing.

  1. I've never heard of H&M. I might have to get away and go check it out. Also, I know what you mean about the service men/women in the airport. It gets me every time and I just want to stand there and appluad them all day too.
