My mom always cooks goodies for Christmas presents. Her signature recipe- Fruit Cake Cookies- was absent from the lineup this year. So far she hasn’t waivered, despite my father’s pleas. We did cook some good stuff.
By the time I got there, she had already made Milk Chocolate Fudge:
Her no mess secret is to line the pan with foil before pouring in your fudge mixture. That way when the fudge is firm, you just lift it out of the dish. NO MESS!
I got to help with Peanut Butter Fudge. One of my favorites!
Then it was on to my other favorite, Haystacks! Easy to make and delicious, what more could you ask for!
Bag of Butterscotch morsels
Can of Lo Mein Noodles
Can of peanuts (use on half)
Melt your morsels in a pot and add the noodles and peanuts. Dip out onto wax paper to harden.
We also made butter cookies, in the shape of Christmas Tree & Wreaths.
Aw, Look at you cooking up a storm! Good for you! Mom is boycotting the kitchen this Christmas and we are going to Edgar's Bakery to pick up a couple of holiday treats this year!
