Because dogs are cleaner than cats. Because dogs DON'T throw up ALL the time. Because dogs DON'T retaliate! Kitty is currently locked in the laundry (with her food and her litter box) because I believe she was the cause of the flea problem we have been having lately. The past few days have been full of washing everything and spraying flea spray, which culminated tonight in a cat washing. Eddie and Heidi do not enjoy being bathed, but they stand there and let me do it. I knew I had to nip the problem in the bud and the ONLY way to do that is to kill the fleas on the cat with flea shampoo- the neck treatment comes in the morning. Obviously cat washing is a two person job. So I had to wait till Keith got home (he spent 5 hours today @ Trussville City Court for a shoplifter). He changed clothes and I picked up the cat. We threw her in the bathtub and Keith got the privilage to hold Kitty down. I sucessfully got her wet (by the way, they hate getting their heads wet). We lathered on the soap, I didn't leave it on for the suggested 5 minutes because she began to get her legs to one side. Before I could get her rinsed she got Keith one good time.
I hope we have sucessfully rid our home and animals of fleas (and yes, we treat the yard as well). I will leave you with a picture of Kitty when she was fond of living with us- not sure how long it takes cats to get over things- another reason why I love dogs, they have SHORT memories.
Poor Rachel and poor Kitty... I had a meltdown this morning because of all of my four-legged children. I sent a text to Josh saying "I am losing my mind." He suggested that I leave the house... sometimes it is good to get away! Good luck wih the pest problems.
